A resource site combining the best of mathematics education resources
What's Up with Math? is designed to be an organized repository of resources for teachers, curriculum directors, consultants, and others interested in improving mathematics education in the United States. Some of the resources here have been developed in a particular area of Michigan, by teachers. Other resources are nationally recognized as being high quality and useful. Only resources that have been used with teachers and have been found to be of quality appear on this site. That is not to say that there are not other quality resources out there, but everything contained here has been effectively used with real teachers in real classrooms and real professional learning opportunities.
While this set of resources is by no means comprehensive, it is a vetted set of helpful sites and sources of information. The list is purposely small, as there has been an explosion of resources since 2010. It is impossible to keep up with everything that comes out, and so only a small set of very useful resources are contained here. More will be added as time goes on.
Please use these resources as you need. Please also consider giving feedback about the site and the resources! All of your thoughts are welcome!

The Author (Curator)
My name is Jason Gauthier and I am a mathematics education consultant for county-level educational service agency in southwest Michigan. I designed this site to help me as I design and deliver my own professional learning programs to teachers. I have used all of the resources on this site and have found them to be quite useful.
I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Mathematics Education and I have been in my current position for 5 years. Prior to that I was both a high school algebra teacher and a teaching assistant in the developmental mathematics program at Western Michigan University. I enjoy thinking about and discussing mathematics education, so please don't hesitate to engage with me over the content of the site or the ideas I share in the What's Up with Math? blog! I look forward to your comments and ideas!
