A K-12 Vision of High Quality Mathematics Instruction (HQMI)
In 2019, a group of mathematics education professionals from across Michigan gathered to consider what constitutes high quality mathematics instruction. The group wanted to lay out the important aspects and ideas in a way that would be useful for a variety of audiences. The vision needed to have a condensed version--an elevator pitch, if you will--and a more detailed version. Through a collaborative process, the group developed the following vision of high quality mathematics instruction.
